A visitor to the Springhill medium security prison has been arrested after staff members confiscated a package containing contraband.
Correctional Service officials say the seizure last Friday (July 27) included hashish and marijuana with an estimated street value of $2300.
RCMP say the visitor was taken into custody and could face criminal charges.
Officials say a number of tools are used to prevent drugs from entering prisons including ion scanners and drug-detector dogs.
