Irving Oil announcing it is investing $200-million in an upgrade this fall called Operation Falcon.
It will involve 2700 workers and bring in $31-million in tax revenue, $15-million for the province and $16-million for the federal government.
Chief Operating Officer Mark Sherman says the support of the building trades to key to the success of this project.
He says they are all local people from in and around the Atlantic provinces.
The work begins in September and wraps up in November.
Arthur Irving made a connection between the announcement and another foggy day in the company’s history.
He says the day it opened the Premier at the time was Louis Robichaud and you couldn’t see the refinery through the fog but you could hear it.
Irving says there are always opporotunities but you can’t trust the luck you have to make it.
