Victims of double homicide in PEI to be laid to rest

A joint funeral will be held in eastern PEI today for a father and son from the Montague area who were killed in their home last week.

The PEI Coroner’s Office confirms 68-year-old Herbert Brent McGuigan and his 39-year-old son Brendon Patrick McGuigan were shot to death last Wednesday night.

RCMP later arrested 46-year-old Alfred Guy Vuozzo, of Lower Montague and he faces two counts of first-degree murder.

Vuozzo remains in custody and his next court appearance is Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Montague area community is supporting the McGuigan family.

A bank account has been set up at Scotiabank in Montague for the children of Brendon McGuigan.
