A VIA Rail passenger train went off the rails Thursday afternoon in Kent County, giving passengers a shock but luckily nothing else.
VIA Rail says Train 14 derailed at 12:35 this afternoon near Coal Branch while travelling from Montreal to Halifax.
Two cars came off the tracks but remained upright.
All 94 passengers and 15 crew are uninjured.
Beersville-Harcourt Fire Department Chief Mark Perry says they received the call around 1 PM.
RCMP and the New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization also responded.
VIA Rail will find buses to transport passengers to their final destinations.
Train 14 and 15 were scheduled to depart Friday but are now cancelled.
Passengers will be notified and offered alternative transportation, refunds, or a ticket exchange.
VIA is conducting an investigation into the derailment with CN Rail.
