UPDATE: Arrest Warrant Issued For Bass River Suspect

An arrest warrant is now issued for the suspect in the Bass River hit and run on January 1st by Richibucto RCMP.

32 year old Ronald Fairweather now faces a charge of failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death.

Around 4 AM on the night of January 1st a pickup smashed into another vehicle on Route 116 near Bass River that left a 19 year old dead.

The driver of the pickup truck left the scene of the crime – and an investigation has been underway ever since.

RCMP are asking the public for help in finding Fairweather and say he may be driving a four door, grey, 2003 Mazda Protege 5, hatch back vehicle with a broken rear window that is covered with black plastic.
