The sentencing hearing for Tyler Noel got underway in Moncton today.
He pleaded guilty to second degree murder and arson in relation to the death of Baylee Wylie in December 2015.
The Crown called Dr. Ather Naseemuddin to the stand – a pathologist who conducted the autopsy on Wylie’s body.

After questions from Crown lawyer Annie St. Jacques, Dr. Naseemuddin added it was impossible to tell the chronology of the wounds, saying there was no evidence of healing that would let him determine the timing of the injuries.
Defence lawyer Martin Goguen only asked Dr. Naseemuddin a few brief questions.

Second degree murder carries an automatic life sentence, however, the length of time before Noel can apply for parole has yet to be decided.
The hearing is adjourned until this afternoon.
