One man has been injured in a Riverview house fire.

Fire and Rescue says flames were visible coming from the Kerry Court home when they arrived at around 9:30 Friday morning.

In a news release, Chief Robin True says the fire was in the basement, and crews worked quickly to extinguish it.

A man who escaped the home was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

True added that there is significant damage on both levels, and two residents have been displaced.

Riverview Fire and Rescue received assistance from Moncton Fire and Ambulance New Brunswick, Codiac RCMP, Riverview Public Works and NB Power.

There’s no word on a cause yet.
