Over the past 31 years, Harrison Trimble students have raised over $170, 000 for the Moncton Hospital Neonatal Unit.
Friday launched the start of the annual Trojan Trek.
Principal Scott Steeves says fundraisers are held over a two week period, with students collecting pledges from the community. They’ll also be taking part in a number of fun events, including toonie day, trail relay, pie in the face contest, and a toga day.
Between $8000 and $12000 is raised each year.
Last year, they were able to purchase a scanner worth $8000 that is used to test young babies for jaundice.
This year, the Trojan Trek funds will go towards to the purchase of Mobile Digital Radiology system which costs $218,000.
