Trojan Trek Underway To Raise Money For Moncton Hospital

Over the past 31 years, Harrison Trimble students have raised over $170, 000 for the Moncton Hospital Neonatal Unit.

Friday launched the start of the annual Trojan Trek.

Principal Scott Steeves says fundraisers are held over a two week period, with students collecting pledges from the community. They’ll also be taking part in a number of fun events, including toonie day, trail relay, pie in the face contest, and a toga day.

Between $8000 and $12000 is raised each year.

Last year, they were able to purchase a scanner worth $8000 that is used to test young babies for jaundice.

This year, the Trojan Trek funds will go towards to the purchase of Mobile Digital Radiology system which costs $218,000.
