Premier Brian Gallant was given a grilling from a Tory MLA who has a large rural population in his riding.
Fredericton-York’s Kirk MacDonald told the Legislature the rural areas of the province have lost a lot of services and says the Premier leaving the rural affairs portfolio last September was a blessing.
MacDonald says “it was the only thing taken from rural New Brunswick that turned out to be a good thing”.
He then read a laundry list of things taken away from rural New Brunswick such as ; sixteen schools, Service New Brunswick outlets, the book mobile, some covered bridges and even a ferry.
MacDonald said “I am reminded of what Jed Clampett used to say about Jethro, this boy is a whiz at them take aways”
