Thousands Pay Tribute To Captain Jennifer Casey

Tribute was paid to Canadian Forces Snowbirds member Captain Jennifer Casey yesterday as her body was returned home to Halifax .

The 35 year old Public Affairs Officers was killed during Operation Inspiration, when the plane she was in went down in Kamloops on May 17.

Governor General Julie Payette, Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan, along with Casey’s family and friends, gathered on the tarmac for the ceremony.

Thousands lined the route, as a motorcade led the hearse through Halifax and past locations in Casey’s hometown that were very special to her.

Operation Inspiration was created as an initiative meant to boost spirits during COVID-19.
