NB Government Encourages New Brunswickers To Explore Their Home Province

The tourism industry is just one of many already feeling the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Minister of Tourism, Heritage and Culture Bruce Fitch says the hope is New Brunswickers will choose to explore their home province this summer.

“Originally, our marketing plan was to market to Quebec, Ontario and New England, which brings the biggest percentage of visitors from outside the province. What we’ve done is pivot to a staycation.”

Fitch says a second tourism video for the province was released last week,”In our first tourism marketing promotion, we’ve tried to instill the pride and hope in New Brunswick. This next phase we’ll be trying to help New Brunswickers pinpoint, where they are going to go first.”

He says many New Brunswickers haven’t seen everything their home province has to offer.

“We’d like to either remind people of the various assets, or introduce them to something they’ve never seen before.”
