Canadians are rolling up their sleeves in an effort to reinforce the national blood supply.
Last week, Canadian Blood Services revealed the supply was at a six-year low. Since launching its appeal, the gap has been closed by one third.
Vice President of donor relations, Mark Donnison says they’ve seen great response, but the need for more donations continues across the country.
He says long weekends are especially tough to collect because people are busy spending time with family.
Donnison is encouraging people to consider becoming a regular donor to keep the blood supply stocked.
