A tentative agreement has been reached between the provincial government and more than 500 employees of CUPE Local 1251.
The group includes correctional officers in New Brunswick as well as human services counsellors and custodians.
Details will not be released until a ratification vote is held.
The employees had been without a contract for almost four years and had voted to take strike action last month.
