Task Force Creates Action Plan For Economic Recovery

Numerous business organizations including the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton and 3+ Economic Development Corporation along with several municipalities in the region have come together to form the Southeast Economic Recovery Task Force.

The group has met weekly since the pandemic began and is releasing an action plan to help businesses in these unchartered waters.

3+ Corporation CEO Susy Campos says they wanted to provide guidance since so much information about pandemic relief has come from the federal and provincial governments.

“That’s when we also started putting together a list of vendors that provide personal protective equipment so that businesses could start getting ready,” she says.

The action plan is available on a website which the task force has created to provide resources about COVID-19.

Campos says the task force has been offering virtual education and training webinars on reopening and what the new reality under COVID-19 looks like.

She says the group has been assessing the economy as it reopens and breaking it down into sectors.

Campos adds they are focusing on the retail and service sector first since it was the hardest hit.
