Target To Close Canadian Retail Stores

Target retail stores are closing their doors.

The company plans to discontinue all of its operations in the country and is filing for Creditor protection.

Target operates 133 stores across the country and has employees almost 18, 000, that includes Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton.

Our newsroom contacted the local Target store and Management is offering no comment.

Reports say a $70 million fund is being set up to ensure employees receive fair severance packages..

Target says it plans to discontinue all operations in Canada and seek protection from creditors.
