Suspicious Fire At Salvation Army Thrift Store

A small fire at the Salvation Army on Mountain Road is under investigation.

Moncton Fire arrived on scene at around 5pm Tuesday afternoon to find smoke inside the store.

Platoon Chief Rob Brine says the fire started in a donation chute in the side of the building.

He says a sprinkler inside the building extinguished the blaze, but the store had to be evacuated and ventilated because of the smoke.

Brine says the fire is believed to be suspicious.

RCMP and Fire are investigating.
