Over $25,000 Worth Of Stolen Lobster Recovered

Three men from PEI have been arrested after the recovery of over $25, 000 worth of stolen lobster.

PEI RCMP says a Seafood storage facility in Murray Harbour was broken into on June 27th, and 48 crates of lobster were stolen.

On the same day, a Shediac RCMP officer approached a van that had broken down on the side of the road, along with a second truck. The officer found a large amount of lobster inside, that was not being properly stored.

The two vehicles were seized for investigation and local DFO Officers were contacted to assist in correctly storing the lobster. Later that day, the RCMP and DFO were able to return the lobster to the company.

RCMP says charges are pending against the three men.

Investigations in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick are still ongoing.
