Students can hop onboard the bus for free this summer.
It’s all part of an initiative by Codiac Transpo to encourage more people to ride the bus.
Spokesperson for the City of Moncton Nicole Melanson says the campaign officially got underway today.
“To try out Codiac Transpo all they need to do is show their student ID card on the way in, and that’ll go right up until August 31st,” says Melanson.
She says they’ve found that young people are interested in green initiatives, and this gives them an environmentally friendly way of getting to their part time jobs or to extra curricular activities.
So far, based on the feedback they’ve received, reaction to this initiative has been very positive.
