To many of our kids, today is just a regular day, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t aware that voters across the country will cast a ballot today to determine which party will form our federal government.
Students have been talking about the various parties over the past month or so, and last week, they were exposed to the voting process.
On Friday, several schools held mock elections, including Forest Glen and Riverview East..with grade 5 to 8 students taking part.
They set up confidential booths and had anonymous ballots.
Students were even assigned roles, some acting as poll clerks, who check student ID’s.
Today, adults across the country will also cast their ballots, you must be 18 years old to vote.
Just a reminder that the polls open at 8:30am and close at 8:30pm tonight.
Tune in to 91.9 The Bend for all of your election coverage starting at 9pm.
