A proud moment for a student from Bessborough school. The 11 year old shared what a home means to her.
Meera Joshi entered a contest through Genworth Canada. She took on the task of writing an essay about the Meaning of Home.
Over 5000 essay entries were received.
Meera’s entry placed in the top 6, and with that runner-up win, Genworth Canada awarded $5000 to Greater Moncton Habitat for Humanity.
She says, “A house is just a building, but a home is a place that you’re loved and accepted, it’s part of you.”
Meera was also rewarded with a golden hammer from Habitat for Humanity, for her hard work that has ended up paying off for others as well.
She also received an iPod, and her class was most excited about the pizza party that was also given with the win.
