Storms Knock Out Power To Thousands

Crews are still working to restore electricity after powerful storms ripped through the province over the last few days.

More than 25,000 NB Power customers were without electricity at one point on Tuesday.

That number is down to fewer than 300 now, with most of those in the Harvey area.

There was quite a bit of damage in the Fredericton area on Monday as high winds tore down trees and heavy rain flooded several streets and parking lots.

A rotating storm in northwestern New Brunswick on Tuesday prompted a brief tornado warning, but there have no reports of any actual tornadoes.
