Spring Weight Restrictions To Be Enforced On Highways

Spring weight restrictions for trucks will go into effect at midnight Sunday for southern New Brunswick, and at midnight next Sunday for northern New Brunswick.

Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Bill Oliver say during the spring thaw, road strength weakens by 30 per cent, so drivers will have to watch their weight.

Restrictions will continue until May.

District engineers are authorized to close roads to trucks or impose weight restrictions on highways at any time should weather conditions worsen.
