A flight leaves tonight, headed for Cornerbrook, Newfoundland. Onboard will be athletes from Special Olympics New Brunswick.
They’re on their way to compete in the 2016 Winter Games, that get underway on March 1st.
31 athletes and 15 coaches are taking part with competitions in five sports, floor hockey, curling, speed skating, figure skating and snowshoeing.
Team Manager Josh Astle 16 of those athletes are from Moncton and Saint John.
The youngest athlete this year is 18, and the oldest is in their 50’s.
At least one of the athletes will be chosen to represent Team Canada at the Special Olympics World Winter Games being held in Austria this year.
