Another year, another shortage of Christmas tree harvesters.
Snokist Trees in Woodstock is just one of several businesses that had trouble finding workers this year.
Kelly Tompkins with Human Resources says they normally need 120 to 140 workers, but this year they struggled to find them, and other tree farms have had the same problem. They were forced to contact the potato board to try and find some extra hands to harvest the hundreds of thousands of trees needed.
Tompkins says in total they need to harvest between 160, 000 to 180, 000 trees.
She’s unsure why they have such a hard time finding workers, especially at this time of year.
