Second Suspect Arrested In Moncton Home Invasion

A second suspect has been arrested following a home invasion in Moncton’s Royal Oaks neighbourhood.

Codiac RCMP say 32-year-old Christopher James Melanson of Moncton is facing 18 charges including robbery with a firearm, unlawful confinement and sexual assault with use of a firearm.

He is being held in custody pending another court date on Friday (September 29).

Early last Friday (September 22), police say two people in the home on Eaglewood Drive were assaulted and threatened by two men armed with long barrel guns.

The suspects fled with electronics and money.

The homeowners suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital and released.

The other suspect, 31-year-old Vincent Harland Mallory of Moncton, is now in custody facing 19 charges and returns to court on October 16.
