A Saint John man pleading guilty in Moncton court to 3 charges in connection with the shale gas protets last year.
73 year old Gregory Morton Cook pleading guilty to assaulting a peace officer, obstructing three police officers and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
The charges relate to an incident in September 2013 near Rexton. He ignored the directions of police and drove through a police roadblock towards a second roadblock of police vehicles coming to a stop very close to the police cars.
Cook was sentenced to an 18-month conditional discharge with conditions to stay at least one kilometre away from shale gas exploration activities and protests, have no contact with the RCMP officers named in the charges against him and to complete 30 hours of community service.
