Riverview Woman To Stand Trial On Attempted Murder Of Newborn Son

A woman charged with the attempted murder of her newborn son, will stand trial.

The decision was made by a Judge in a Moncton courtroom this morning.

Thirty-one year old Christine Margaret Wood will be tried in Court of Queen’s Bench on three charges, attempted murder, committing an indignity to human remains and disposing of a body to conceal the fact she gave birth.

A trial date will be set at a later date.

The body of the child, known as Baby Taylor, was discovered in a snowbank on Taylor Road in Monteagle in April of 2009.

RCMP believe the body could have been left there between October of 2008 and March of 2009.

Wood was arrested 4 years after the discovery.
