Moosehead To Lay Off About 70 Hourly Employees

Moosehead Breweries is laying off nearly half of its production employees next year.

About 70 workers will be effected and were informed of this today.

The reason given is the result of a loss of major brewing and packing contracts earlier this year.

The brewery on Main Street West currently has 144 unionized employees.

Some of the reductions may be achieved through scheduled retirements.
