Ride For Diabetes and Jail and Bail To Be Held In Moncton Today

Hundreds will swap their ties and high heels today in exchange for sneakers and silly hats, and it’s all in support of Moncton’s Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Over 50 teams will participate in the fourth annual Ride for Diabetes Research at City Hall Plaza, located at 655 Main Street in Moncton.

In a team of five, participants will take turns pedalling for 40 minutes to raise money in an effort to help find a cure.

Last year’s event raised $55, 000, and this year’s goal is $75, 000.

In addition to this event, a Jail and Bail will be held at Moncton City Hall plaza. Anyone can have their boss, a friend or a colleague arrested between 9:30 and 1pm. They are brought downtown to sit in jail while they make phone calls to fundraise for their bail money.

The cost to have someone arrested is $20, 000.

To have someone arrested, contact moncton@jdrf.ca or call 857-4255.
