A popular tourist attraction along the shores of eastern New Brunswick is getting government funding for a renovation.
The one-kilometre long walkway at Le Pays de la Sagouine in Bouctouche will be refurbished so it can better withstand ice and weather conditions.
A total of $1.5 million is being invested with most of the funding coming from the federal government while $375,000 is from the province.
Artistic director Luc LeBlanc says the walkway is symbolic of a path that connects Acadians to an important part of their culture.
