Renous Staff Intercept Drugs Worth $22K

Staff at the Atlantic Institution in Renous stopping an inmate from bringing a large variety of drugs into the facility.

Correctional officers intercepted an inmate attempting to bring in heroin, hash, marijuana, ecstasy, hydromorphone beads and suboxone pills.

Suboxone pills are used to treat opioid addiction.

The seizure made possible through the combined efforts of correctional officers, a detector-dog team and security intelligence officers.

The drugs have an estimated value inside the institution of $22,000.

Police have been informed and staff at Renous are looking into the situation.
