RCMP Officer Passes Away After Shooting In Alberta

Sad news out of Alberta this morning.

An RCMP who was shot near Edmonton has died.

42 year old Constable David Matthew Wynn was shot at close range during an altercation over the weekend at a casino in St. Albert.

He never regained consciousness after the incident on Saturday .

Wynn was a former resident of Miramichi, and he spent several years working as a paramedic in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia before joining the Mounties.

Funeral arrangements are not known, there will be a regimental funeral in Edmonton.

Meantime, Auxiliary Constable Derek Bond, who was also shot in the same incident, is recovering at home.
