Raising Awareness Of Mental Illness On Bell “Let’s Talk” Day

Today is Bell Let’s Talk Day,

The campaign encourages Canadians to talk, text, tweet and share in the conversion about mental health.

Well-known entertainer Mary Walsh is one of several celebrities promoting the day, and tells us it is an important day.

She says, “It’s not even the money that Bell is raising, but the fact of talking about it. The fact that on January 27th, it is alright to talk about mental health and mental illness.”

Last year’s, more than $6-million was raised for mental health initiatives.

Statistics show one in five Canadians will experience some form of mental illness in their lives while two of three suffer in silence fearing judgment.

For every tweet, text message sent, Mobile & long distance call made and share of Facebook image, Bell will donate five cents to mental health initiatives.
