QMJHL To Retire Lafleur’s No. 4

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League is retiring Guy Lafleur’s famous number 4 across the league.

Lafleur played two seasons with the Quebec Remparts from 1969 to 1971 and led the team to a Memorial Cup.

He then played 1,126 games in the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, and Quebec Nordiques.

Lafleur won five Stanley Cups, three Art Ross trophies, two Hart trophies, three Lester B. Pearson Awards, and a Conn Smythe trophy during his 17-year career.

The number 4 becomes the second number retired by the Q after Sidney Crosby’s number 87.
