Provincial NDP Leader Says The Party Is Still The Best Choice For Changes To The Minimum Wage

While the Liberals were announcing a $14.00 per hour minimum wage by 2022 in Saint John on Monday, NDP Leader Jennifer Mckenzie re-iterated her party would have a $15.00 per hour minimum wage if elected.

McKenzie says the NDP is clearly in the driver’s seat on the issue but recognizes that changes to employment standards are needed at the same time so workers have safe and stable working conditions and are protected from doing precarious jobs.

The leader says the NDP announced its plan for a $15.00 minimum wage and changes to employment standards one year ago.
