Provincial Government Highlights Road Work In Cap-Pelé Area

The provincial government highlighted road work they are doing in the Cap-Pelé area at a news conference Wednesday.

Shédiac-Beaubassin-Cap-Pelé MLA Victor Boudreau says 1.5 million dollars in funding for this work was announced as part of this year’s capital budget.

“There is some work being done in the Village of Cap-Pelé proper, as well as some work being done in the Beaubassin-East rural community which kinda surrounds Cap-Pelé,” says Boudreau. “There’s one kilometre of new asphalt that’s been laid on Route 950 in Bas Cap-Pelé, that work’s actually already been completed.”

This funding will allow the government to chip seal 4.7 kilometres of Route 945, as well as 900 metres of de l’Ile Road, and 400 metres of Poucette Road.

As well, a culvert is being replaced on Cormier Village Road, and repairs are continuing on Bear Creek Number 1 Bridge on Aboujagane Road.
