Former Finance Minister Blaine Higgs claims the Liberals have painted themselves into a corner because they promised too much during their campaign to get elected.
Higgs says a methodical approach to balancing the books has been blown sky high and he charcterises the budget as “hack and slash”, calling it an attack on seniors, education and rural New Brunswick.
Higgs adds one can only assume a credit rating downgrade is just around the corner based on criticism of the budget by Moody’s Investment Service for increasing the deficit.
