New regulations proposed by the Gallant government are intended to allow individuals experiencing domestic, intimate partner, or sexual violence access to workplace leave.
Up to 10 days of leave is available to be used altogether, or piecemeal, and as well as up to 16 weeks of continuous time off, of which the first five days would be paid.
Premier Brian Gallant believes this regulations will allow people to deal with safety concerns, get medical, legal, or law enforcement help, or relocate.
Five provinces, including Ontario and Nova Scotia, already have regulations such as this in place.
The public can review these proposed regulations until July 13th – a link is available HERE.
