Premier Gallant Spoke About Energy East During Most Recent Trip To Ottawa

Premier Brian Gallant has just returned from a trip to Ottawa where he says he talked about two major projects for New Brunswick.

Speaking to an audience at Port Days in Saint John, N.B., the premier says this is a project they believe will create thousands of jobs for Canadians and help increase the GDP throughout the country including here in New Brunswick at a time when we need to focus on growth.

“I’m going to do everything I can in my capacity as premier to make sure that the Energy East project moves forward, that it is done safely, it is done the right way,” says Gallant. “And more importantly that it makes its way from Alberta right to here, Saint John New Brunswick.”

The premier also says he spoke about why he thinks the federal government should be investing $68.3-million into Port Saint John. That’s the amount that the Port is looking for from the federal government for their West side modernization project.
