Postal Workers Turn Down Binding Arbitration

Postal workers have politely declined the opportunity to bring negotiations with Canada Post management to binding arbitration.

National President of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers Mike Palecek says “It’s a matter of principle” Instead, the union hopes to reach a negotiated settlement.

Labour Minister Mary Ann Mihychuk had made the suggestion of binding arbitration….and Canada Post extended its lockout notice until Monday at 12:01am eastern time.

The deadline had initially been set for Friday.
