Poll: Majority Of Holiday Shoppers Plan To Stay On Budget

Most holiday shoppers are keeping their spending the same or less than they did last year. A new poll conducted by CIBC shows a majority of people are trying to stay within budget during the festive season. However, 21 per cent of people expect to overspend if the right gifts catch their eye. The average shopper will spend $517 on gifts, with one in five people looking to spend less. The people most likely to go overbudget on holiday spending are adults between 18-34 years old. The poll suggests people set up a budget and stick to that plan.
