Playground Structure Destroyed After Overnight Fire

The cause of a fire that destroyed a children’s play structure is under investigation.

Captain Randy Carter of the Moncton Fire Department says around 11:30 last night a neighbour saw flames at the playground at the corner of Joyce Avenue and Grant Street.

He adds there were no injuries, but the climbing structure at the site is a total loss, and some of the foam matting underneath is damaged as well.

The damage to one of the structures at a playground at Grant Street and Joyce Avenue is substantial. The fire took place overnight and is under investigation.
