A petition has been launched in the hopes of getting enough support to help reinstate Dieppe Fire Chief Charles Leblanc.
Members of CUPE local 3515 created the petition after the sudden news that Leblanc is no longer with the department.
The petition states that over the past 20 years, Leblanc has demonstrated that he is a proven leader of the fire department.
It also says Leblanc is a respected and valued member of the community and is a highly respected Fire Chief in the Province of New Brunswick..
So far, the petition has over 950 signatures.

The reason behind the departure of the fire chief has not been made public.
