Staff at Dorchester Penitentiary intercepted a package of drugs worth tens of thousands of dollars this week.
The package contained marijuana, hash, cocaine, tobacco, pills and nicotine patches.
Staff estimate the value to be around $38,000.
The Correctional Service of Canada is taking steps to strengthen measures preventing contraband from entering their facilities.
They’ve set up a phone tip line to receive additional information relating to the security of their prisons.
