Moncton Fire Department Investigating Cause Of Overnight Fire

Investigators from the Moncton fire department are searching for the cause of a fire that destroyed three businesses last night on Salisbury road.

Charlie Leblanc is the chief of the fire prevention and investigation division.

He says his team is on site and they are sifting through debris looking for the cause.

Leblanc adds the businesses in the building were all involved in refinishing cabinets and furniture.

“Obviously with these types of occupancies there’s lots of flammable products and a lot of chemicals that they use in the process of finishing wood and so on and so forth,” says Leblanc.

He says they know approximately where the fire started in the building but haven’t nailed down a cause just yet.
