Old Farmer’s Almanac Never At Loss For Ideas

When the Old Farmer’s Almanac was first published in 1792, most readers were in some way involved in the agriculture industry.

But if you fast-forward more than 220 years, the articles and information in the annual publication can appeal to anyone.

Editor Jack Burnett says this year’s edition contains everything from food and gardening to pet love and even germs.

“An article which is kinda scary actually… although we didn’t intend it to be scary article but it’s called ‘How clean is your kitchen?’. We also have lots of folklore and articles about recycling and moose.”

However, Burnett notes one of the most popular features of the almanac are the long-range weather forecasts – considered about 85 percent accurate.
