Moncton, NB- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roméo Melanson, 88, on Friday, March 13^th, 2026, at the Villa du Repos in Moncton.

Born in Saint-Anselme on April 13^th, he was the son of the late Alfred Melanson and the late Ozina (Caissie) Melanson.

Roméo will be sadly missed by his sister, Jeannita Cormier (late Aurèle) of Dieppe; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters: Alice, Delia, Lina and Alfreda; and his brothers: Antoine, Albenie, Hervé, Clorice, Zoël, Normand and Armand.

Visitations will be held at Passage ~ Chartersville (363 Amirault Street, Dieppe) on Saturday, March 21^st, 2026, from 9:00am until 11:00am. A funeral service will then take place in the chapel at 11:00am.

Donations in memory of Roméo can be made to the Peter McKee Food Bank.
