Néri Goguen

1927 ~ 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Néri Goguen, 98, on Sunday, February 15th, 2026, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.

Born in Cocagne, he was the son of the late Mathias and the late Claudia Goguen.

Néri will be sadly missed by his children: Gisèle Goguen, Guy Goguen, Darlene (Norbert) Niles, and Yvette (Charles) LeBlanc all of Cocagne; his grandchildren: Carole, Christine, Brian, Réjean, Joline and Gilles; as well as his great grandchildren: Macie, Wesley, Carley, Mylie, Luca, Ariel, and Mélodie.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Imelda; as well as his siblings; Arthur, Léo, Baptiste, Henri, Neil, Émile, Yvonne, Sr. Juliette, and infant sister, Marguerite.

Néri worked as a mechanic at Irving in Cocagne for 35 years. He also spent a year working as a school bus driver prior to beginning his career at Irving.

Néri was a truly great worker, dedicated, dependable, and always available to lend a helping hand whenever someone needed it. He was generous with his time and energy, and his helpful nature made a lasting impression on everyone around him. Beyond his strong work ethic, Néri cherished the simple joys of life. He loved spending his winters in Florida with his wife and enjoyed camping and fishing. He especially enjoyed going on daily drives, appreciating the peace and freedom of the open road.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Auberge du Soleil in Dieppe as well as Dr. Dupuis for the great care they provided.

Visitations will be held at Saint-Pierre de Cocagne RC Church on Monday, February 23rd, 2026, from 10:00am until time of service. A funeral service will take place in the church at 11:00am.

Donations in memory of Néri can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
