Monique Dumont-Girouard

1939 ~ 2026

Surrounded by her family at the Foyer Notre-Dame-du-Sacré Coeur in Dieppe, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the age of 87, Monique Dumont Girouard passed away peacefully. She resided in Dieppe, formerly of Campbellton, NB. Born on March 22, 1939, in Campbellton, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Georges-L. Dumont and the late Elizabeth St-Pierre. She married Dr. Edgar Girouard in 1979. She is survived by her sister Louise (the late Douglas Rankin) of Ottawa and her brother Jacques (Micheline) of Arizona, as well as her nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brother, Father Jean Marie Dumont, cjm; her sisters: Sister Thérèse Dumont, fma; Françoise (the late Henri-Louis Guilmette); Madeleine (the late Walter Savoie); and her niece Louise Guilmette.

A dedicated nurse, she graduated from the School of Nursing at the Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus in Quebec in 1960 and then worked in maternity at the Hôtel-Dieu Hospital in Campbellton for almost twenty years. Throughout her professional career, Monique demonstrated zeal and kindness towards her many patients.

For leisure, she also enjoyed traveling with friends, gardening, and spending time outdoors with her loved ones. She had a particular interest in philately and postcard collecting. Her involvement in

within the Campbellton school board has greatly contributed to the advancement of French-language education in his community.

To pay him a final tribute, we will gather at the Ste-Thérèse-de-l’Enfant-Jésus Church in Dieppe, 457 Acadie Avenue in Dieppe, on Tuesday, April 21 at 10:30 a.m. The burial will take place at Notre-Dame- des-Neiges Cemetery in Campbellton at a later date.
