March 10, 1953 – July 31, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of my beloved mother, Marielle Michaud, of Riverview, NB, on Friday July 31, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on March 10,1953, in Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec, Marielle was the daughter of the late Lina Levasseur and the late Arthur Michaud.
Marielle was predeceased by her parents, Lina Levasseur and Arthur Michaud, and by the love of her life, Gary Lewis.
Marielle proudly served with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for 25 years before retiring. Her career brought her to Petitcodiac, where she met Gary, with whom she shared many happy years.
Marielle found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved travelling, taking long walks, reading a good thriller, bird watching, and working on puzzles. Above all, she cherished spending time with her granddaughters, who brought endless happiness to her life. She will always be remembered for her warm heart, her playful sense of humour, and her unmistakable strong French accent that could always bring a smile to those around her.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Jessica Lewis (Gabe); her granddaughters, Lauren and Lainey; her stepdaughters, Charlene Wilkins (Tom) and Valerie Lewis, and their children; her brothers, Jean-Yves (Marielle), Gérald (Marie), and Robert (Gilles); as well as her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends in Quebec.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Alani and the compassionate nurses and staff of Unit 4200 at The Moncton Hospital, especially her favourite “pain in the butt,” Corey, for the exceptional care, kindness, and laughter they shared with Marielle throughout her journey.
A special thank you to Mom’s home care staff for your unwavering support, compassion, and devotion, which allowed her to remain in the comfort of her own home for as long as possible.
Family and friends are invited to Fergusons Funeral Home & Fergusons Crematorium, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995) for a visitation to Celebrate and Honour Marielle’s Life on Monday, August, 10, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
